Hello, I’m Rahsaan Liddell—a passionate educator, multilingual advocate, CEO of Global Pathways Education & Publishing, and founder of the Afro Sino Chamber of Commerce. My journey has taken me from classrooms in Chicago to the frontlines of educational innovation in China, where I spent a decade as a language instructor, entrepreneur, and award-winning cultural bridge-builder.

 

Over the past 10+ years, I’ve taught Mandarin, English Language Arts, and Math in Chicago Public Schools, served as a special education teacher, am a certified Learning Behavior Specialist, and worked as a brand ambassador and stadium operations professional for the Chicago Bears. I’m also one the proud coaches of Illinois’ 2021 State Champion Little League team.

 

My work is grounded in equity, empowerment, and excellence. As an AmeriCorps alum and recipient of the Segal Education Award, I’ve mentored at-risk youth in underserved communities, focusing on literacy, self-confidence, and life skills. Today, I continue that mission through tutoring, workshops, speaking engagements, and educational content creation—all tailored to uplift students, families, and schools.

 

I’m currently enrolled at the University of Chicago, completing the Urban Teacher Education Program and earning 60 professional development hours by May 2025. I also hold a master’s in special education and am completing a second master’s degree in Chinese Studies at DePaul University to further deepen my cultural expertise.

 

In China, I founded the American English Academy, taught Business English and Entrepreneurship at all grade levels, and was honored by the Chinese government as a Distinguished Teacher, Foreign Educator of the Year, and am a licensed Foreign Expert of Culture and Education. I led disaster relief efforts following the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, receiving national recognition for valor and leadership.

 

Today, my mission is global and local. I offer tutoring in Mandarin, ELA, and Math (K–8), as well as dynamic workshops and keynote speeches on topics including cross-cultural leadership, global education, fatherhood, and educational equity. I’m also writing a children’s book about the Chinese New Year, supported by a Rotary One CPS Opportunity Grant, and developing a full “Mandarin Level 1” curriculum for students of all backgrounds.

 

But my proudest role is being a father. I’ve raised my teenage son as a single dad since he was 3 years old. Our journey has shaped my commitment to high character, care and community—values I bring into every classroom, coaching interaction, and conversation.
